Eight Killed and 16 Injured in Bus-Trailer Collision on Qom-Kashan Road

A spokesman for the Iranian Red Crescent Organization in Isfahan Province announced that eight people were killed and 16 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a trailer on the Kashan-Qom highway.
According to Dariush Karimi, Deputy Director of Relief and Rescue Operations at the Isfahan Province Red Crescent, the head-on collision occurred at 3:30 AM on Tuesday, December 7th.
The passengers on the bus were traveling from Dahdashte towards Tehran, and the accident occurred at kilometer 10 on the Kashan-Qom road.
As Mr. Karimi reported, rescue operations for the injured took more than two hours.
On December 4th, one person was also killed and 17 others injured following the overturning of a passenger bus in Kerman.
According to statements by traffic police authorities, more than 8,200 people have lost their lives in road accidents in Iran during the first seven months of this year.
Iranian traffic police identify human factors, road problems, and vehicle defects as the most important causes of road fatalities in the country, respectively.
