Saudi-led Coalition Strikes Houthi Positions and Secret IRGC Site in Yemen

The military coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced its airstrikes against Houthi positions in Sanaa. Reuters reported that among these targets was a “secret” site belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The military coalition led by Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, December 9th (November 30th) announced an airstrike on “legitimate” military targets of the Houthis in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen. According to Reuters, among these targets was a secret IRGC site. Civilians were urged not to gather near and around potential targets.

Al-Masirah television network, the main Houthi broadcaster considered aligned with Iran, stated that coalition forces carried out three airstrikes on Sanaa airport, but the fourth strike targeted a park.

These strikes are among several attacks the coalition has conducted on the densely populated city of Sanaa this month.

The Houthis have repeatedly targeted sensitive sites in Saudi Arabia with their missile and drone attacks. The Yemen war is considered a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
