According to Hrana news agency, citing ILNA, the director general of the Office for Development of Educational Justice and Nomadic Education at the Ministry of Education announced the existence of 3,626 nomadic students who have dropped out of school.

Seifi said in this regard: “The highest number of school dropouts among nomadic students belongs to West Azerbaijan Province with 1,061 students, Lorestan Province with 566 students, and Kerman Province with 265 students”.

He added: “Currently, more than 75,743 nomadic students are deprived of accessing the Shad network for virtual education due to lack of necessary infrastructure, and in the past year, 72 percent of our nomadic schools provided in-person educational services. Provinces that had better infrastructure for internet access had the highest rate of non-attendance classes”.

He also stated that nomadic students in West Azerbaijan Province have been deprived of education due to their inability to purchase textbooks, saying: “We transferred the issue of nomadic students’ lack of access to textbooks to the Research Organization and asked them to help the areas that require attention in preparing textbooks. Unfortunately, the Research Organization has not cooperated with us in this regard. We have made many follow-ups requesting that free textbooks be provided for bilingual, border, and severely deprived areas, but this was not done”.

The director general of the Office for Development of Educational Justice and Nomadic Education at the Ministry of Education continued: “West Azerbaijan Province has 32,000 nomadic students, and according to the officials of nomadic education in West Azerbaijan, a large number of nomadic female students in this province did not register in school due to the lack of purchasing and providing textbooks”.
