Hamed Ashoori, Christian, Sent to Karaj Central Prison to Serve 10-Month Sentence

According to Hrana news agency, citing Article 18, on Tuesday, August 26, 2021, Hamed Ashoori was transferred to Karaj Central Prison to serve his sentence.
The Court of Appeal on Saturday, July 26, 2021, upheld the 10-month prison sentence for Hamed Ashoori, a Christian.
Hamed Ashoori was arrested by security forces in Fardis, Karaj in March 2019 and transferred to Qarchak Prison in Karaj for interrogation. He was temporarily released after ten days.
It is reported that security forces conducted a search of Mr. Ashoori’s residence while he was in detention.
The hearing on the charges against this citizen was held in March 2020 in Branch Four of the Karaj Revolutionary Court. Based on the verdict issued and notified to Mr. Ashoori in April 2020, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison on the charge of propaganda against the system.
