Bijan Abdolkarimi, Philosophy Professor, Dismissed from University “for Defending the Pahlavi Monarchical System”

According to reports by several Iranian media outlets, Bijan Abdolkarimi, associate professor of the Philosophy Department at Islamic Azad University, North Tehran Branch, has received a dismissal order from the university due to “defending” the “Pahlavi monarchical system.”

Several Iranian media outlets, including the Mehr News Agency, reported the news and announced that the dismissal order of this university professor, which states in part that “the aforementioned lacks the qualifications for membership in the faculty of Islamic Azad University,” was served to him on Saturday, September 4 (Shahrivar 13).

According to the issued order, the dismissal decision of this philosophy professor, who is said to have been teaching at the university since 2001 (1380), is final.

Mehr News Agency removed the news of Bijan Abdolkarimi’s dismissal from access shortly after publishing it, but other news websites continue to publish it citing Mehr News Agency.
