Following Family Opposition to Marriage; 16-Year-Old Boy and 28-Year-Old Woman Commit Suicide

A 16-year-old adolescent along with a 28-year-old woman in Lordegan city located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, by tying their hands together and throwing themselves into Karun Dam 4, committed suicide and lost their lives. The share of Iranian adolescents in annual suicides according to the Legal Medicine Organization has been reported at over 7 percent.

According to a report by Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists group in Iran, a 16-year-old adolescent along with a 28-year-old woman in Lordegan city committed suicide.

The identity of this adolescent, Ahmadrezaa.R., 16 years old and resident of Lordegan city, has been verified by Hrana.

This adolescent along with a 28-year-old woman named Fatemeh.A., by tying their hands together and throwing themselves into Karun Dam 4, committed suicide and lost their lives. According to an informed source, the motivation behind the suicide of these two citizens was family opposition to their marriage.

It should be noted that among educational materials that the Iranian government prevents from being presented, reference can be made to the 2030 document which addresses education of children and adolescents in the field of sexuality and mutual relationships.

The share of Iranian adolescents in annual suicides according to the Legal Medicine Organization has been reported at over 7 percent.
