Ali Mojtahedzadeh, a lawyer, was arrested by security forces on Monday, June 9 (19 Khordad).
According to the website Etemad Online, the officials, after “confiscating the lawyer’s personal belongings,” took him to the Evin Prosecutor’s Office.
The reason for Mr. Mojtahedzadeh’s arrest has not been announced. In his latest tweet published on June 8 (18 Khordad), referring to the first court session of Akbar Tabari, he wrote: “Cases whose investigations and issuance of rulings were conducted by corrupt judges, including Ghasemzadeh and Mansouri, must be reviewed”.
On June 8 (18 Khordad), during the investigation into the economic violations of Akbar Tabari, the executive deputy of the office of the head of the judiciary during Sadegh Larijani’s tenure, it was announced that Bijan Ghasemzadeh and Gholamreza Mansouri, two prominent judicial officials, are also among the accused in Tabari’s corruption case.
Bijan Ghasemzadeh, who became famous in 2017 by issuing an order to filter Telegram, has also played a role in dealing with journalists in recent years.
Gholamreza Mansouri, a judge at the Lavazan court who is accused in the Tabari corruption case of receiving 500,000 euros in bribes, also issued an order in 2012 for the arrest of 20 journalists.
Mr. Mansouri, who was absent from court yesterday, is reportedly in hiding according to judicial authorities.
