International Federation of Journalists Reports New Wave of Pressure on Iranian Journalists Abroad

The International Federation of Journalists reported on Saturday, December 2, in a statement that Iran’s security forces and judiciary have initiated a new round of pressure on Iranian journalists based outside the country who are engaged in news activities.

According to the report, Iranian journalists told this international body that at least six of their colleagues who cooperate with Persian-language media outlets outside the country have faced a new round of intimidation and harassment by the government.

The report quoted one of the journalists working in Europe as saying that Iran’s security forces have recently summoned his parents and asked them to persuade him to end his cooperation with the media outlet he works for.
