Israeli Army Opens Persian-Language Social Media Accounts

The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that it has opened social media accounts in Persian to communicate with the Iranian people on social networks.

The military institution stated that its new accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Telegram demonstrate to the Iranian people that “you are not our enemy, but the Iranian regime is our enemy.”

The Israeli army added: “The Iranian people deserve to know the facts, and that is what we are striving to do.”

Previously, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and the country’s Foreign Ministry had opened Persian-language accounts on Twitter and Telegram.

Netanyahu’s Twitter account has approximately 40,000 followers, and the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s account on this network has over 120,000 followers.

The most important and most active Israeli social media account in Persian belongs to the country’s Foreign Ministry under the title “Israel in Persian.”

The Israeli army’s Twitter account has been activated under the title “Israeli Defense Army in Persian.”

In the first tweets published by this account, five tweets describe a military network affiliated with the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that, according to the account, was planning “terrorist operations” using armed drones through Syrian territory.

In these tweets, in addition to an image of Qasem Soleimani, Javad Ghafari was mentioned as the commander of Iranian forces in Syria.
