Tripling of Exit Fees from Country in 1397 Budget Bill

Iran’s president submitted the 1397 budget bill to parliament. In this bill, exit fees from the country for each person have increased several times over. Shortly after the budget bill was released, social networks reacted to the news.

Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s president, presented the 1397 budget on Sunday, December 19 (December 10) by appearing in the open session of parliament to the parliament speaker.

In this budget, many items have seen fee increases, including exit fees from the country, which show a threefold increase.

According to the 1397 budget bill, exit fees from the country for each person are as follows:

First trip fee: 220,000 tomans (compared to 75,000 tomans in 1396)

Second trip fee: 330,000 tomans (50 percent increase)

Third and subsequent trip fees: 440,000 tomans (100 percent increase)

The multiple increase in exit fees from the country quickly faced reactions on social networks.
