
According to reports, the forensic doctor stationed in Evin Prison has finally backed down in the face of the dry hunger strike by political prisoner Hossein Ronaghi Maleki and has issued an order for his hospitalization.
He had threatened to continue his hunger strike until his demands were met.
This political prisoner had begun a hunger strike from the seventh of Farvardin 1395 in protest of Evin Prison’s obstruction of his medical treatment.
The family of this political prisoner states that he has lost one kidney during his imprisonment and his other kidney is also infected.
Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, a blogger, was arrested on the twenty-second of Azar 1388 by the Intelligence Organization of the Revolutionary Guard and after 10 months of torture and interrogation in ward 2-A of Evin, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on the thirteenth of Mehr 1389 by branch 26 of the reactionary court. Among his charges were insulting Khamenei and Ayatollah Rouhani. This verdict was upheld in branch 54 of the appellate court. He, who has suffered from various diseases including severe spinal damage and loss of one kidney, stomach bleeding, eye infection, lung and respiratory problems as a result of the inhuman conditions of the prison and brutal torture by the information agents’ mercenaries, and with infection in his only remaining kidney is on the verge of losing his other kidney. It is worth noting that the regime’s repressive agents keep him in ward seven of Evin Prison and among common criminals in order to place him under further pressure.
It is worth recalling that Amir Amirgholi, Saeid Shirzad, Afshin Baymani, Masoud Arab Chobdar, Farid Azmoodeh, Iraj Hatami, Behzad Tarahomi, Saleh Pichganlou, Mostafa Pourvein, Saeid Sadeghi Far, and Morteza Pourvein are prisoners who are on hunger strike.
