Official coronavirus statistics in Iran: Number of victims higher than in previous days

According to statistics from the Iranian Ministry of Health, with the death of 211 more patients infected with the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the official number of victims of the virus in Iran has reached 26,380, an increase compared to previous days.
At the same time, the President of Iran also announced the imposition of fines proportionate to violations of health regulations at three levels: offices, guilds and private businesses, and public spaces.
Sima Lari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, announced in her daily report on Thursday, October 10, the identification of 3,825 new patients with COVID-19, and said that currently more than 4,110 patients in severe condition are under intensive care.
According to this official report, the total number of coronavirus patients in Iran has exceeded 461,000.
The accuracy of the daily and official statistics announced by the Ministry of Health has always been seriously questioned by some independent experts, and some sources say that the number of infections and victims in Iran is between two and several times the official figures.
Today, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, at a meeting of the heads of committees of the National Headquarters for Combating Corona, emphasized the need to establish the necessary penalties to ensure compliance with health guidelines and said: "Crimes commensurate with violations will be applied at three levels: offices, private guilds and businesses, and public spaces."
According to Mr. Rouhani, fines have been specified for people who disregard health protocols at any of these levels.
According to the Ministry of Health, the current status of the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamedan, and Yazd is still red.
The four provinces of Kurdistan, Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan are still in a state of alert.
