Iran's chargé d'affaires in Berlin summoned to German Foreign Ministry

The German Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian chargé d'affaires in Berlin over his involvement in the attack on synagogues in Bochum.

Last year, there was a planned attack on a synagogue in Bochum, and during the investigation, it was determined that an Iranian government entity was involved in the actions related to the attack.

The German Foreign Ministry also summoned the Iranian chargé d'affaires for his involvement in the pre-planned attack. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding the attack and the investigation.

In the aforementioned statement, the German Foreign Ministry, while noting that according to the Düsseldorf State High Court, the plot to attack the synagogues in Bochum in November 2022 can be traced back to an Iranian government institution, and for this reason we summoned the Iranian chargé d'affaires, added: "Attacks on German Jews are unacceptable. We will not tolerate any violence in Germany that is under the control of foreigners. The reasons and the inevitable consequences of this decision are important for future measures against Iran, including at the European Union level."

The Düsseldorf State Court also sentenced a German of Iranian origin to 2 years and 9 months in prison yesterday for arson. The court emphasized that Iranian government agencies were involved in the arson.
