Following recent student protests at Sharif University, which resulted in the imprisonment of a large number of students in the university parking lot, security forces detained and then transported many of them outside the university.

It should be noted that sufficient information is still not available on the status of most of them.

The attack by security forces on Sharif University had a global impact, and the United States, Britain, France, and Canada condemned it; however, the Sharif University Council issued a statement expressing sympathy for the victims and, bearing in mind that preserving the university's dignity is one of the inviolable principles for the country's development and progress, announced that on Sunday, October 6, faculty members of Sharif University of Technology will gather in front of the university's central library to protest the desecration of the university and the events that occurred.
