Saba Kord Afshari beaten by her cellmate in Qarchak Prison

On Sunday, March 2, HRANA reported that Saba Kord Afshari, a civil activist imprisoned in Qarchak Prison in Varamin, was beaten by one of her fellow prisoners. This human rights website, citing an informed source, wrote that the prisoner had wrapped his arms around Saba Kord Afshari's neck and intended to strangle her, and that prison officials had been a passive observer throughout the entire conflict and beating.

The news agency of the Human Rights Activists' Association in Iran, HRANA, announced this news and added that the failure to observe the principle of separation of crimes and keeping political prisoners alongside prisoners of general and violent crimes has repeatedly led to conflicts and life-threatening situations.
