Nationwide protests by Iranian students and the arrest of a student on the eve of December 7

A student rally at Amirkabir University (Polytechnic) in Tehran in support of detained workers, teachers, and students escalated into clashes with Basij forces.

Students at Amirkabir University in Tehran held a protest rally on Tuesday, December 4, in support of recent workers and teachers' rallies and demanding the release of imprisoned workers, teachers, and students. According to student sources, the rally led to clashes with Basij forces.

These protests were held on the campus of Amir Kabir University following a pre-announced call by students. While their hands were chained together, the students carried placards that read: "Tank cannons and machine guns are no longer effective," "Worker, student, unity," "Worker, student, and imprisoned teacher must be released," and "Victory from Allah and imminent victory, death to this government of deceitful people."

According to images published on social media, Basij forces clashed at Amir Kabir University and chanted slogans such as "Hypocrite, seditionist, happy union!" However, the students did not stop rallies and continued their slogans about the freedom of political students, workers, and teachers.

Other images on social media also show similar gatherings on the eve of December 16, Student Day, at other universities in the country, including Anoushirvani University in Babol and Sahand University in Tabriz. These students have gone on a hunger strike.
