Elina Anali, a thirteen-year-old girl, tells about Mahsa Amini

Thirteen-year-old Elina Anali, who has just completed her bachelor's degree and is entering medical school, speaks about Mahsa Amini in her acceptance speech for the Young Icahn Award.

The sound of the bitter events in Iran that have occurred so far following nationwide protests has reverberated around the world, to the point that even children and teenagers have felt it and even sympathized with the people of Iran.

One such teenager, 13-year-old Elena Annali, is not Iranian but expresses her sympathy for the killing of Mahsa Amini. She has just entered medical school and mentioned Mahsa Amini in her acceptance speech for the Young Icahn Award.



“I am truly honored to be the recipient of the Young Icon Award,” Elena Annali said in her speech. “Receiving the Icon Award is stepping into the shoes of great people. I am not “the future,” I am “now.” My hope is to use my platform and my position to be a louder voice for women and girls around the world, to open up space for them and give them a place at my table.”

Little girls! There will always be a place for you at my table. I see you and I support you and I love you. Finally, let us remember Mahsa Amini, Mahsa Amini was in Iran. She was beaten and murdered while in police custody. She cuts her hair in support of Mahsa Amini, who was arrested and then killed by the Ershad Patrol for wearing a hijab, and continues: Mahsa Amini! I am your voice and I will never let you be forgotten.
