Transfer of five death row prisoners to solitary confinement

Five security prisoners sentenced to death in Urmia Prison were transferred to solitary confinement.

According to HRANA, five prisoners in the city of Urmia, who had been sentenced to death on charges of espionage, were transferred to solitary confinement today, Thursday, January 27, which has increased the concern of their families and relatives.

The prisoners named Mansour Rasouli, Aran Omari, Rahman Parhazo, Wafa Hanareh, and Nasim Namazi were arrested by security forces in November 1401 and interrogated on charges of espionage, and were transferred to the political ward of Urmia Prison in March 1401. They were sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court on charges of participating in intelligence cooperation and espionage for the benefit of Israel.

In Ordibehesht 1401, a video file of Mansour Rasouli, who introduced himself as a member of the IRGC's Quds Force and was interrogated by Israeli forces on Iranian soil, was published in the media. However, Mansour Rasouli announced in another video that he had been kidnapped as a farmer and civilian and was pressured to confess to false information.

The Revolutionary Guard Corps also announced in other statements that the perpetrators of the kidnapping and false confessions, who were connected to the Israeli intelligence service, have been arrested. Now, the fate of the five prisoners sentenced to death on espionage charges has caused concern due to many ambiguities in the case.
