Security pressure increases on the eve of the anniversary of the November 2019 protests; dozens of people were summoned to the prosecutor's office in Behbahan city

On the eve of the anniversary of the November protests, reports indicate that security pressures on the families of those killed in the protests have intensified. Security officials have issued summonses to dozens of Behbahani citizens, including the families of those killed.
According to a copy of a subpoena from the Third Investigation Branch of the Behbahan City Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, which was obtained by Voice of America, the prosecutor's office has summoned dozens of Behbahan citizens, including some family members of those killed in the November 2019 events, such as Farzaneh Ansarifar, the sister of Farzad Ansarifar, one of those killed in November.
Among the charges against these individuals in this summons are insulting Khamenei, "participating in disrupting public order and peace," "disrupting the country's security," and "consensus and collusion to commit a crime against internal/external security."
According to this summons, the individuals whose names are listed are required to appear before this prosecutor's office within five days, otherwise they will be arrested.
Also, on Sunday, November 8, images were published on social media showing the destruction of the road leading to Behesht Rezvan Cemetery in Behbahan on the eve of the anniversary of those killed in the November 2019 protests.
Some users on social media have reported that they encountered this scene after the families of the November 2019 victims in Behbahan announced that they planned to hold an anniversary ceremony at "Rezvan Paradise" in Behbahan.
According to unofficial reports, the road to the cemetery has been completely blocked by the government, and the demolition is said to have been carried out on the orders of the "Behbahan Police Command and Intelligence Department and by the municipality."
During the nationwide protests of November 2019, Behbahan was the scene of widespread gatherings and violent and severe repression of the people by the forces of the Islamic Republic regime.
Last November, people in various cities in Iran took to the streets to protest the sudden increase in the price of gasoline. According to Reuters, around 1,500 protesters were killed on Khamenei's orders. The Iranian government did not punish the perpetrators of the crackdown, but instead arrested and sentenced the protesters.
The United States says the Islamic Republic is spending its wealth, rather than the Iranian people, on supporting terrorist groups and destabilizing the Middle East. The United States has also repeatedly condemned the institutionalized financial corruption and looting of Iran's God-given assets by regime affiliates, calling them among the main causes of Iran's economic and financial problems.
US President Donald Trump has also repeatedly referred to the issue of Iranian protesters and America's support for the Iranian people, saying that "the protesters in Iran are seeking freedom and we fully support them."
The US State Department has also repeatedly and on various occasions condemned the violent confrontations and widespread repression of protesters, as well as the repeated and persistent violations of the rights of Iranian citizens by the ruling regime in that country.
