Explosion and fire in Tehran flower market leaves at least two dead and eight injured

An explosion and fire in Tehran's flower market, near the Mahallati Highway, has so far left two dead and eight injured.

A spokesman for the country's emergency organization announced the news, stating that the incident occurred at around 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 2nd.

According to ISNA news agency, the firefighting operation has ended, but the search for possible missing persons and debris removal continues.

A spokesman for the Fire Department has announced that the explosion of gas cylinders is the probable cause of the fire in the Mahallati Flower Market.
