Arrest of Fasting People for Punishment While Neglecting the Hungry to Feed Them

The Islamic Republic regime has arrested fasting people and imposed heavy penalties on them, while neglecting to find the hungry and feed them.

Ramadan this year coincided with Iran’s ancient Nowruz celebration, and Iranian people traveled to various cities during the Nowruz holidays and held Nowruz ceremonies with family and relatives. On the thirteenth day of the Nowruz holidays, when people spend their day in nature, they were harassed and abused by Islamic Republic forces for fasting.

A video released from that day on social media pages shows that Islamic Republic forces severely beat a man in front of his wife and children for eating food during Ramadan, placed their foot on the man’s neck, and then arrested him after severe beating.

This incident occurred while another video was released on social media showing that Islamic Republic officials, reportedly Iran’s ambassador, were present in nature in London with their family and were entertaining and eating food during Ramadan, while in the United Kingdom, particularly in London, Islamic centers exist where Muslims residing in the city gather during Ramadan and hold iftar ceremonies.

In this video, an Iranian woman living in London filmed them and protests their breaking the fast. The woman who recorded this video says: “It is Ramadan and people in Iran are fasting and the fasting people are being fined and you are here enjoying yourselves. But they objected to this woman’s filming and said we are not in Iran and everyone has their own opinion and you should respect others’ opinions.”

This respect for opinion mentioned in this video by Islamic Republic officials is prohibited in Iran, and the Islamic Republic regime not only disrespected the opinions of the Iranian people and did not allow them freedom of thought, but imposed its own views on them and arrested people for this very freedom of thought, one aspect of which is not fasting during Ramadan, and issues heavy penalties against them. This occurs while their own families are enjoying themselves in Western countries.

The Islamic Republic regime is such that it has put its people in distress and subjected them to beating and arrest for not complying with the regime’s views, and also issues heavy penalties against them. This action of the government is an example of the saying “death is good but for the neighbor.” Heavy penalties, imprisonment, arrest, massacre, execution, and so on are for the Iranian people, while entertainment, embezzlement, plunder, and enjoying themselves are for their own families in Western countries.
