Security agencies arrest four Jewish citizens

Four Jewish citizens were arrested by security agencies in Shiraz and Tehran.

Following the 12-day war between Iran and Israel and the subsequent ceasefire announcement, many citizens, including Christians, civil activists, Jews, and even ordinary people, were arrested by security and intelligence forces on charges of collaborating with Israel and espionage.

According to reports published on social media, four Jewish citizens named "Kamran Hekmati", "Michael", "Navid Ron", and "Shahab Yousefi" have now been arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence forces in the cities of Tehran and Shiraz and are being held in the detention centers of this security institution.

These citizens, who were arrested in the past few days, are still in a state of uncertainty and no information has been released about the details of the case and the charges brought against them. Two of these citizens, who were arrested in Shiraz, are currently being held in the Intelligence Organization's detention center No. 100.

Although no charges have been filed against them yet, keeping the Israeli flag in their home is one of the cases included in the case files of these Jewish citizens, even though they themselves are Jewish citizens and keeping their country's flag is not considered a crime.

Another of these citizens, Kamran Hekmati, who had recently traveled to Iran to visit relatives, was arrested by security forces and is being held in Tehran's Ministry of Intelligence detention center because of his trip to Israel in the past seven years. He is an Iranian-American Jewish citizen known as Yehuda and is about 70 years old.

Another citizen named Michael was also arrested in Tehran and is being held in the Ministry of Intelligence's detention center. According to reports published by people close to him, he is scheduled to appear in his final interrogation session tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6, but no details about the charges against him are yet available.

According to a law passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly in 2011, travel to Israel by Iranians and people with Iranian citizenship will result in two to five years in prison and a multi-year ban on obtaining a passport, a law that even includes the Iranian Jewish community, who are also denied the right to make phone or internet calls to their families in Israel.

Despite the fact that Iran recognizes Jews as a religious minority and allows them to follow their religion and hold their religious ceremonies, it opposes the Zionist regime as an independent state and country. While the Islamic Republic regime has also guaranteed the rights of religious minorities, including Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians, according to a report by human rights experts, recent security pressures against the minority community have increased sharply, and this pressure is considered an example of ethnic and religious discrimination, which is in complete contradiction with Iran's international obligations.
