The brother of Mohammad Hossein Qanavati, one of those killed in the November 2019 protests in Behbahan, was arrested.

Human rights organizations reported the arrest of Amin Moradi, Payam Jihouni, and Mohsen Qanavati, citizens of Behbahan, coinciding with the anniversary of the November 2019 protests in the city.

Mohsen Qanavati, the brother of Mohammad Hossein Qanavati, was among those killed in the November 2019 protests in Behbahan.

HRANA News Agency reported that these individuals were arrested by security forces on Sunday, November 13, and transferred to Ahvaz security detention centers and Behbahan prison.

According to this report, the second anniversary of those killed in the November 2019 protests was supposed to be celebrated with the presence of families at the graves of the deceased, but in recent days a number of citizens were summoned by security agencies by phone and were asked to pledge not to participate in the anniversary ceremony.

During the protests in Behbahan in November 2019, Mohammad Hossein Qanavati, Farzad Ansarifar, Mehrdad and Mahmoud Dashtinia, Mohammad Hashemdar, and Ehsan Abdollahnezhad lost their lives after being shot by security officers.

HRANA reported that Mohsen Qanvani was summoned to Branch 3 of the Behbahan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office on November 9. He was also charged with "insulting the clergy, insulting revolutionary institutions such as the Revolutionary Guard through his Instagram page, spreading news about the protests and riots of July 2019 through his Instagram page, promoting in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the regime, and calling for a rally in solidarity with opponents of the regime."
