The uncertainty of "Mohammad Tahmasebi", a political defendant, in Sheiban Prison, Ahvaz

Political defendant Mohammad Tahmasebi has been in limbo in Sheiban Prison for more than 175 days.

Mohammad Tahmasebi, 32, from Izeh, was arrested by security forces in Urmia on August 14 and transferred to Ahvaz. After a month of not knowing about him, he informed his family in a phone call that he had been transferred to the Ahvaz Intelligence Department detention center.

After more than a month of interrogation, he was transferred from the Ahvaz Intelligence Department detention center to Ward 8 of Sheiban Prison. The charges against him include "propaganda against the regime," "disturbing public order," and "collaborating with groups opposed to the regime."

Although Mr. Tahmasebi's case is being reviewed by Branch 2 of the Izeh Prosecutor's Office, no action has been taken to investigate his case or hold a trial. Now, more than 175 days after his arrest, he is still in limbo in Sheiban Prison.

In addition to being denied access to a lawyer, he suffers from intestinal adhesions, shortness of breath, and chest pain, but unfortunately, he is also denied medical attention.
