Statement from the Kerman Bar Association's Civil Rights Commission regarding the girls' bus overturning

The Kerman Bar Association's Civil Rights Commission issued a statement regarding the overturning of the bus carrying girls from Kerman's Farzanegan High School.

On February 18, 1403, a bus carrying girls from Farzanegan High School in Kerman, who were returning from the Shahdad camp, overturned, killing several of them and injuring the other students. The Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of the Kerman provincial capital announced the filing of a legal case regarding the incident, saying: “The necessary legal orders have been issued to deal with those responsible for the incident and to stop the actions taken in this heartbreaking incident.”

The Kerman Bar Association's Civil Rights Commission also issued a statement in response to the incident and the deaths of some students. The text of the statement reads as follows: "The news of the overturning of a bus carrying girls from Farzanegan High School in Kerman suddenly plunged the people of the province into deep sorrow and regret. No words will comfort the hearts of the grieving fathers and mothers, and no ointment will be able to heal the wounds left by the incident."

After the fun day of our teenage girls with a thousand passions and dreams in their heads and a thousand hopes for the future, a wound has been left in the lives of those who mourned and suffered from the accident, and a wave of feelings of distrust and insecurity towards those responsible for the education and upbringing of our children has emerged.

Therefore, it is necessary for the esteemed prosecutor of Kerman to address the issue and identify and punish the guilty parties who, through carelessness, negligence, and failure to comply with regulations and procedures, have caused such a life-threatening tragedy, in the hope that pursuing the matter and punishing them will lead to greater responsibility and vigilance on the part of those responsible for similar cases.

"Also, the Kerman Bar Association's Civil Rights Commission expresses its sympathy with the survivors of the incident and announces its readiness to provide them with any legal support."

It should be noted that yesterday, just a day after the accident, a video was published on social media in which one of the injured girls told a Tasnim reporter that rescue workers arrived at the scene later than the children's parents. She stated in the interview: "The bus driver told us that the bus had braked and asked everyone to go to the back of the bus." According to her, if rescue workers had arrived at the scene sooner, the people who lost their lives might have survived.

In the past two years, after the start of nationwide protests and the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement, schools across Iran have been subjected to severe poisonings that continued in a chain reaction. Unfortunately, the perpetrators continued to work freely, and the authorities did not take any specific action in response to the protests and the strong reactions to them.

Now, after two years, attacks on students have begun again, indicating the existence of behind-the-scenes policies to divert public attention. In addition to this heartbreaking accident that resulted from the bus's brakes cutting out, another video was also posted on social media showing a line officer opening the tracks of the East Railway (Sangan) while a locomotive was on the tracks and moving. The line officer and the line maintenance officer stated that they had orders from above.

The video of the Sangan railway can be seen below.
