Protest rally of Samen coin losers escalates into clashes

Those who lost their money in the Samen coin have once again held a protest rally, while news reports indicate that police officers clashed with the protesting losers.
A group of people who lost their money in the Samen coin scam held a protest rally in front of the Iranian Attorney General's Office in Tehran on Sunday, April 15, but according to videos obtained by Voice of America, security officers and police clashed with the people who lost their money.

A witness to the clash told VOA that police forces closed the street and began beating protesters who had lost their property, and then took several protesters away in a van.
Security forces' handling of victims of financial institutions' losses is not unprecedented in Iran. Previously, victims of the Samen coin scam had also held rallies in March, during which the police clashed with the protesters.
