Mashhad Cemetery Asks Taxi Drivers to Help Transport the Deceased

The head of the Mashhad Municipality Taxi Organization said: "At the request of the Ferdows Organization, a call has been sent to van taxi drivers to help the Paradise of Reza (AS) and the Paradise of Rezvan, and those who are interested can submit their request."
According to Fekrshahr from ISNA, Ahmad Mohebi regarding the following text message: "In view of the start of the fifth wave of Corona and the decrease in travel demand, and in view of the announcement by the Ferdows Organization regarding the shortage of ambulances to transport the deceased from Behesht Rezvan to burial sites, respected taxi drivers who are willing to cooperate with the Ferdows Organization in transporting the deceased (after a complete bathing and detoxification process in compliance with all health standards, which will not pose any risk to the taxi drivers) should express their readiness within 24 hours by sending their national code to the short message system 30001305. Obviously, the fee to be paid will be announced later," which was sent to the van drivers.
He stated: Due to the increase in the number of deaths, the Ferdows Organization has experienced a shortage of ambulances, and accordingly, he announced the need for servicing and transporting bodies inside the Paradise of Reza (AS) or Rezvan and sent this text message. An example of this work was also done last year for the post office, and at that time, according to the request of the post office, about 70 vehicles helped this office. Now, due to the decrease in pilgrims, the situation of vans is somewhat sluggish and they can operate there for a few days with an agreement they make with the Ferdows Organization.
He stated: "Some families may want to bury the deceased elsewhere, so it takes time for the funeral car to go and return. Vans can help with this task, and instead of carrying the body on their hands, people can carry it to the burial site by car for the 3,000 to 4,000 meter journey."
In response to a question about whether these vehicles will be used between urban areas such as Behesht Reza and Rezvan, which are far apart, Mohebbi said: "These vehicles will be used mostly inside the cemeteries themselves, and of course, this is an issue that will be agreed upon between the Ferdows organizations and the drivers after the drivers announce their cooperation."
The head of the Mashhad Municipality Taxi Organization said: "Applicant drivers can submit their applications by tomorrow, we will introduce these people to the Ferdows Organization and they will discuss the salary with that organization. The organization may also use vans to transport the deceased's relatives or, by removing the seats inside the car, to transport the bodies. In any case, our every effort is to help the Ferdows Organization's colleagues in this critical situation with jihadi work."
Mohebbi added: Also, considering that drivers are in the private sector and the control of the car is with them and not with the taxi driver, we can only provide information; maybe someone wants to help because we have many jihadist and revolutionary people among the taxi drivers. Like during the Nights of Power, we provide information and if someone is willing, they can serve the people.
He noted: "It should be noted that this call was sent only to Mashhad van taxis and not all taxis, and that special line vans such as the railway and airport cannot leave their location under any circumstances. This call is for vans other than special lines. Special line vans such as the railway must provide their services, and it is not in the city's honor that our services in such places are reduced."
