Seven teenagers arrested during protests in Zahedan prison were gang-raped

After torturing six Baloch detainees and one Mashhad detainee, officials at Zahedan Central Prison gang-raped them in a cell.

The "Baloch Activists Campaign" reported on social media about a mass sexual assault on seven detainees in Zahedan Central Prison. The campaign announced that officers used a hose to sexually assault seven young detainees.

On Sunday, March 27, during the Baloch people's protests, 6 Baloch people and 1 person from Mashhad were arrested and transferred to Zahedan Central Prison. Prison officials subjected them to severe physical and mental torture in order to extract a forced confession from them. When they failed to obtain a forced confession through torture, they proceeded to sexually assault and torture them, using a hose.

The identities of the arrested Baloch men who were sexually assaulted have been announced as "Benyamin Kohkan," 16, "Elias Kohkan," 19, both brothers, "Yasin Kobdani," 17, "Mohammad Darwish Naroei," 19, "Ishaq Rigi," 21, and "Saeed Baranzehi."

It should be noted that 16-year-old Benjamin Kohkan attempted suicide twice after being sexually assaulted, but was unsuccessful. He and Yasin Kobdani are currently being held in the "Children's Correction and Education Center" ward of Zahedan Central Prison.

Rape of detainees during nationwide protests in Iran is not a new issue. Many girls and boys who were arrested during the revolutionary uprising in various cities were sexually assaulted by government agents to extract forced confessions, many of whom attempted suicide after the rape, some of which were unsuccessful.

On February 10, the Halwash News Agency in Sistan and Baluchestan province also clearly revealed that IRGC intelligence agents raped Baloch women detained in detention centers.

The detainees who were held in prisons in various cities during the protests and who were raped are in a very bad and deplorable physical and mental condition.

Baloch activists also announced that government agents of the Islamic Republic are using rape of protest detainees as their last resort to stop the protests in this region. However, the people of Balochistan will not stop protesting until they win.

Mawlawi Abdul Hamid also addressed the institutions and announced: "We call on institutions and free individuals to intervene to prevent this terrible crime and deviation."

The crimes of the Islamic Republic regime continue more and more every day. Crimes that have left no words to recount. Lies, looting, adultery, repression, arrests, killing children and youth, making people homeless, poisoning children and youth in schools, sexually assaulting detainees, etc. are among the greatest crimes of the Islamic Republic regime that cannot be called anything other than terrorism.
