Mike Pompeo's reaction to the new round of protests: The Iranian people are fed up with Khamenei and the IRGC

The US Secretary of State, releasing a video of the protests of the Iranian people following the admission of the scandal of the downing of a passenger plane by a IRGC missile, emphasized that the United States stands with the Iranian people.
Mike Pompeo wrote on Twitter on Saturday, January 11: "The voice of the Iranian people is clear. They are fed up with the regime's lies, corruption, incompetence, and brutality of the IRGC under the command of Khamenei's thuggish dictatorship."
Mr. Pompeo emphasized: "We stand with the Iranian people, who deserve a better future."
In a video released by the US Secretary of State, protesters in Tehran chant: "Don't call me a seditionist; sedition is you, the oppressor."
A senior administration official also told VOA that the United States supports the people of Iran, like the rest of the world, who want their leaders to stop spending their money and valuable resources on terrorism and nuclear ambitions.
He said the United States calls on the regime not to resort to violence against protesters or to cut off communications, as it has repeatedly done in the past.
He said, "The Iranian people deserve better than this, and we stand with them."
Hours after the Islamic Republic's officials were forced to admit that the Ukrainian passenger plane was shot down by a missile fired by the Revolutionary Guard Corps, protesters took to the streets and chanted slogans against the Leader of the Islamic Republic, the Revolutionary Guard Corps, and other officials in several locations, including in front of Amir Kabir University and Sharif University.
