The official number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has exceeded two million.

Statistics collected by Johns Hopkins University indicate that the number of coronavirus patients worldwide has exceeded 2 million.
This statistic includes confirmed cases of patients, and based on that, the number of deaths has approached 120,000.
Johns Hopkins University in the United States does not have independent access to statistics in different regions of the world, so the data collected includes estimates as well as statistics from countries that do not follow a single standard in terms of transparency and aggregation.
However, this same figure also shows that the number of people infected with Covid-19 has more or less doubled in less than two weeks.
On April 4, summaries of estimates as well as official statistics from various countries showed that one million people had been infected and half of the world's population was in quarantine.
Many countries have continued or extended regulations and travel restrictions over the past two weeks.
During this time, some countries and US states faced a spike in cases and deaths, although some of them now say they have passed the peak of the outbreak curve.
Statistics show that more than 580,000 people have been infected in the United States and more than 23,600 have died. In Spain, the number of patients has exceeded 170,000 and the number of deaths has exceeded 17,700. In Italy, more than 20,000 people have died and the number of patients has reached about 160,000.
Official statistics provided by Iranian authorities indicate that more than 73,000 people have been infected and 4,585 citizens have lost their lives.
Of course, the Iranian Ministry of Health itself had previously emphasized that the conclusion was based on the final testing of individuals and did not include people who had or have clinical symptoms.
At the same time, unlike most countries in the world, Iranian authorities have not announced the number of victims by province and have also stopped publishing statistics on the number of infected people by province since April 24.
The exact number of infected people globally is not known, and more research is needed to get a better picture, both given concerns about how some countries report their cases, and the extent of testing, or the number of people who may have been infected with COVID-19 but have not been tested or even seen due to mild or sporadic symptoms.
