Last year, the US fired 59 Tomahawk missiles at the Shayrat air base in Idlib province following a chemical attack on Khan Sheikhoun. The US said the air base was used for the chemical attack on Khan Sheikhoun.

Syrian state media also said that missiles were fired towards eastern Damascus on Monday evening, which were intercepted and destroyed.

IRNA reported, citing Syrian state media, that six missiles were fired at the Shayrat air base, "all of which were destroyed."

The report added that three missiles were also fired at Al-Damair Airport in Qalamoun, east of Damascus, and they were also destroyed.

Meanwhile, an Israeli military spokesman said on Monday, in response to a question about the missile attack on the Shayrat base in Homs: "We do not comment on this matter."

Previously, on April 10, at least seven Iranian forces were killed during an attack on a key Syrian air base in Homs province.

The Russian military and the Syrian government announced that Israel was responsible for the attacks on the T-40 or Al-Tiyas air base.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that two Israeli F-15 fighter jets attacked a military base on the outskirts of Homs from Lebanese airspace, firing eight air-to-ground missiles.

According to some reports, the T-4 military airport is "the main base for the Syrian forces and their allies, which plays the role of supporting, supporting, and arming the Syrian forces and their allies fighting in the provinces of Deir Ezzor, the Hama countryside, and Aleppo."

The Islamic Republic is sending its military forces to Syria and Iraq as "defenders of the sanctuary" to fight against opponents of Bashar al-Assad and the Islamic State group, or ISIS.

A number of Afghan and Pakistani Shiites have also been sent to Syria by Iran as part of the "Fatemiyoun Brigade" and the "Zainabiyoun Brigade".

So far, a significant number of these forces who have been killed in these two countries have been buried and buried in several cities in Iran.
