Soldier's 'crazy' shooting leaves four dead

On Saturday, September 17, the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Governorate announced a shooting incident at the Yasuj Correctional Center, in which four people were killed and two others were injured.
The victims of this incident, which occurred on the evening of Friday, September 16, are named Hamed Ahoon, Hossein Yazdanpanah, and Afshin Kamali.
According to the Iranian Students News Agency, ISNA, Fattah Mohammadi, the deputy political and security governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, identified a soldier with the initials "A. P.", born in Gachsaran County, as the perpetrator of this deadly attack, and said that he was serving his military service at the Yasuj Correctional Center.
According to the deputy governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, the soldier ended his own life by shooting himself after his "crazy act."
Fattah Mohammadi continued to say that the cause and motive of this incident are still unknown and that necessary measures will continue until the outcome is clear.
Mehdi Ansari, the police commander of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces, also told ISNA news agency: "The correctional center is under the supervision of the Judiciary's Prisons Organization and has nothing to do with the police force."
At the same time, Ali Abbas Falahati Motlagh, Director General of Prisons and Security Measures of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad Province, confirmed that these soldiers were from the Prisons Organization and told IRNA that the investigation into the cause of the incident by criminal detectives, the judiciary, and the provincial military prosecutor is still ongoing.
He also announced the adoption of necessary measures to establish greater security and peace in the city and Yasuj Prison.
Yasuj Correctional Center is located 10 kilometers from this city, in the Madawan area.
