Street Vendor’s Shooting in Tehran City Theater Courtyard Leaves One Injured

Tehran police say that during a shooting incident on Sunday evening in the courtyard of Tehran City Theater, a 26-year-old young man was wounded.

According to Keyvan Zahiri, head of the Greater Tehran Prevention Police, “a 24-year-old street vendor” opened fire into the air and also shot at the leg of his friend, who was also a street vendor, following a quarrel between them.

According to the police official, the shooter stated that the altercation began after his friend “insulted his deceased mother.”

Sergeant Major Zahiri commented on the shooter’s access to a revolver, saying: the suspect has previously attempted suicide three times, and “he purchased the weapon from one of the western provinces of the country for the purpose of suicide.”

According to the same report, medical treatment was provided to the injured person at the scene, and a case file has been opened for the shooter.
