John Bolton: Qassem Soleimani is one of the most dangerous people in the world; do not underestimate the IRGC and Quds Force

In a radio interview on Wednesday, April 11, the US President's National Security Advisor confirmed the assessment that Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, is "one of the most dangerous people in the world," and said that the Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force should not be underestimated.

In an interview with Hugh Hewitt on the Internet Radio, John Bolton responded to a question about retired US Navy officer James Stavridis' statement that "Qassem Soleimani is one of the most dangerous people in the world," saying that this assessment is absolutely correct.

Stating that the IRGC, and especially the Quds Force, which Soleimani commands and is wreaking havoc throughout Iraq and Syria, should not be underestimated, he said that this is why President Trump's decision to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization is a worthy one.

President Trump's national security adviser noted that the IRGC had long been known as a sponsor of terrorism, and its official designation as a terrorist organization means that anyone doing business with it, or its affiliates, faces up to twenty years in prison.

He went on to note that President Trump's decision is "very important" and is a message to the United States' allies in Europe that if anyone wants to think about doing business with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, they should also think about twenty years in prison.

On Monday night, the US Secretary of State said in an interview with Fox News that in his opinion there is no difference between Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of ISIS, and that both are terrorists.

President Donald Trump officially designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization in a statement on April 9. According to the US Secretary of State, President Trump's decision to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization will be officially implemented on April 16.
