Details of the new court verdict for civil activist Narges Mohammadi revealed

Taghi Rahmani, a political activist based in Paris and the husband of Narges Mohammadi, announced on Wednesday, February 26, the details of the civil activist's new conviction.
On Tuesday, Ms. Mohammadi was finally able to call her family in Iran to explain the details of this new court ruling.
According to the verdict issued by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, this civil activist has been sentenced to eight years and two months in prison, 74 lashes, two years of exile from Tehran, a two-year ban on activities in organizations and parties, and a two-year ban on presence and activity on social networks and (telecommunication) interviews.
This is Ms. Mohammadi's first phone call to her family after being transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin.
At the end of his recent tweet, Mr. Rahmani noted that this verdict is "initial" and was issued separately from Narges Mohammadi's previous conviction. Therefore, the previous verdict remains in effect.
On February 22, he tweeted that his wife had been sentenced to two years of "ban on telecommunications" in a five-minute trial, in addition to imprisonment and flogging, but he called other details of the sentence "vague."
Narges Mohammadi was arrested on November 15 during a raid by security forces on a mourning ceremony at the tomb of Ebrahim Kebatdar, one of those killed in November 2019. After two months of interrogation and imprisonment in solitary confinement in the Ministry of Intelligence's detention center, known as Ward 209 in Evin, she was transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin last week.
The Shahr-e-Rey Penitentiary for Women, known as Qarchak Prison, is located 45 kilometers southeast of Tehran, near Qarchak County, along the Tehran-Varamin Highway.
In the previous case that was opened against this civil activist in recent months, charges such as "propaganda against the regime," "sit-in at the prison office," "rebellion against the prison administration and officials," "destruction of windows," and "slander" were raised in connection with the accusation of torture and assault. For these charges, he was sentenced to "80 lashes, 30 months of penal servitude, and two counts of financial payment."
