Hamed Esmailiyon: Municipality agents burned the remains of the victims of the Ukrainian plane crash

Hamed Esmailiyon, who lost his son and wife in the downing of a Ukrainian plane by the IRGC, has announced the burning of the belongings of the passengers and the destruction of the effects of the downing of the plane.

Hamed Esmailiyon wrote on his Facebook page, noting that it has been seventy-three days since the downing of the plane by the Revolutionary Guards, that "Seventy-three days after the IRGC's crime in the skies of Tehran, in Shahedshahr, the place where the plane crashed, everything has returned to normal. The ground in the area bears the marks of bulldozers and loaders, and the furrows of the soil show that they have collected everything. There is not even an officer there anymore. They have planted a camera somewhere to monitor the comings and goings, but there is no officer anymore because, as you all know, life must return to normal. Journalists, too..."

In another section about the remaining belongings of the plane crash victims, he wrote that "municipal officials have been dispatched to the area three times and have burned the remaining suitcases and clothes. The municipality, the same institution that wants to build a memorial for us and our loved ones, has burned the relics of our loved ones in the deserts of Shahedshahr three times."

Mr. Esmailiyon wrote that “when the site of a plane crash remains untouched for months and years and for kilometers, the Islamic Republic turns the scene of a crime into a garden, a park, or a vulgar carnival stage. This is what the Islamic Republic does to people’s memory.”

On the morning of Wednesday, January 8, a Ukrainian Airlines Boeing 737 passenger plane with 176 people on board was shot down by the air defenses of the Revolutionary Guard Corps after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport on the outskirts of Tehran. After days of insistence by Iranian officials that the plane had crashed due to a technical malfunction, the IRGC finally announced that it had mistakenly targeted the plane.

However, the plane's black box has not been sent to other countries, and Islamic Republic officials have made contradictory statements about the boxes. Not only have those responsible not been brought to justice, but government spokesman Ali Rabiei said that "none of the government officials, including the president himself, were aware of the main cause of the plane crash, which was unintentional self-defense fire, until Friday evening."

Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had called on Iran to hand over the plane's black boxes to his country. Also, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko had recently announced that Ukraine was continuing to pressure the Islamic Republic to hand over the black boxes of the Ukrainian passenger plane shot down by the Revolutionary Guard Corps and to identify the person who gave the order to fire a missile at the plane.
