Tehran University Security: 9 detained students released

The news channel of the student union councils says that out of the 40 to 50 arrests on Monday, November 15, some have been transferred to Fashafoyeh and Evin prisons. The head of security at Tehran University says that the number of arrested students has been exaggerated.
Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, the president of the University of Tehran, has announced that he will follow up on the release of students arrested in recent protests: "A number of them have been released and we hope that many more will be released soon."
Nili did not provide statistics on the number of students arrested, explaining that the number of detainees is changing.
The Telegram channel “Students’ Union Councils of the Country” stated that on Monday, November 15, between 40 and 50 student activists at Tehran University were arrested. The channel reported that plainclothes officers used an ambulance to enter the university and arrest the students.
The channel wrote that the arrests of the students took place at night and in the dark, and some of them were transferred to Fashafoyeh and Evin prisons. Five of the arrested are students of Allameh Tabatabaei University.
Soha Mortezaei, former secretary of the Central Trade Union Council of Tehran University, Yashar Dar-e-Shifa, student activist, Mohammad Amin Hosseini, former secretary of the Trade Union Council of Noshirvani University of Babol, Ali Nanavaei, student at Tehran University, and Kamyar Zoghi, social sciences student at Tehran University, are among the students who have been arrested at home or on the street. Due to the internet being blocked, there is no further information on the identities and number of students arrested in the ongoing protests.
Esmaeil Soleimani, head of security at the University of Tehran, announced on Thursday, November 20, that nine of the detained students had been released. He also claimed that the number of detainees had been exaggerated, but did not provide any figures.
The National Student Union Council said that security agencies have contacted some students and their families and warned them that if they are seen on campus, they will be arrested.
