Israel's blind attacks have killed civilians in Gaza
Israel's indiscriminate attacks not only claimed the lives of civilians in Gaza, but also added to the suffering of the defenseless people by blocking humanitarian aid.
Medical sources in Gaza confirmed that a truck carrying refugees trying to leave the city was targeted by Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday evening, September 16. The attack left at least five people dead and several injured. The injured have been taken to Al-Shifa Hospital.
The Israeli attack comes as thousands of people continue to flee Gaza, with images showing long convoys of vehicles and even handcarts. As Israel's military operation continues, the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is worsening by the hour, with aid agencies warning of a catastrophe.
Israel's relentless attacks on civilians in Gaza are reminiscent of the repressive methods of the Iranian regime; two governments that both victimize defenseless people through violence and disregard for human dignity.
In addition to direct killing, Israel is deliberately causing the gradual death of civilians by blocking the entry of food and medical aid. These policies are in complete contradiction to the message of the Gospel and human values, and leave a stain of shame on the conscience of the world.
Churches and the international community have warned and declared that they cannot remain silent in the face of these crimes. Our duty is to stand with the helpless and demand an immediate end to these inhumane acts, because silence means complicity in oppression.
