In the past 18 months, more than 2 million uninsured construction workers have been unemployed.

The deputy chairman of the parliament's social affairs commission said in a public session on Wednesday, August 23, that more than 2 million seasonal construction workers have been unemployed in the last 18 months. According to Ali Babaei Karnami, these workers are even deprived of insurance.

According to HRANA news agency, quoting Asr Iran, the deputy chairman of the Parliament's Social Affairs Commission announced that more than 2 million seasonal construction workers without insurance have become unemployed in the last 18 months.

Ali Babaei Karnami stated in a public session of the parliament on Wednesday, September 23: "These workers are even deprived of having insurance."

Babaei Karnami added: "The government, especially the parliament, needs to hold a special meeting to determine the status of these workers and prioritize supporting them."
