"Reza Diako": The sixth season of "The Chosen One" has a special emotional and spiritual charge
Reza Diako, the Iranian actor of the series "The Chosen One," announced the special emotional and spiritual burden in the sixth season of the series.
The Chosen is a Christian historical drama television series created by Dallas Jenkins. The multi-season series follows the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, set in Judea and Galilee in the first century AD, focusing on Jesus and the various characters who come to know and follow him.
Jonathan Romney plays Jesus in the series. The series tells the story of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ based on the Gospels. The series, which began production in 2017, was funded by crowdfunding, and according to the creators, viewers have paid about $100 million in production costs over the course of four seasons. In addition to its own app, the series is also available on Netflix and Amazon.
Iranian actor Reza Diako, who plays the role of Philip in the series, joined the cast in the fourth season. In an interview with The Christian Post, he said that the new season of the series depicts a different and profound experience of the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples, and is completely different from what has been shown so far.
He says of the sixth season of the series: "This season has a special emotional and spiritual charge, as it delves deeper into the final days of Jesus' life, which comes from years of character development. This season is like losing a family member."
Philip, who plays a key role in uniting the students in the series, also has a unique and spiritual personality. Reza Diako says about his personal experience and living in different countries: "Before acting, I studied psychology and have experiences in the field of mental health and medicine, which have helped me a lot in shaping Philip's character more deeply and made me identify with Philip's mobile spirituality."
Diaco added: "Philip plays the role of mediator and tries to manage tensions among the disciples so that everyone can focus on the path of following Jesus." He considers the most touching moments of the recording of the fifth season to be the scene of the Last Supper in which Jesus speaks of his imminent death and the disciples who are hesitant to accept it.
He also considered “realism” the main reason for the series’ popularity, stating that it has been able to attract a large audience from different cultures and beliefs. He also concluded his interview by saying, “I hope that the new season, despite the tensions and deep emotions, will present a message of hope and a fresh look at the life of Christ, and that this work will continue to connect with people as it grows and expands.”
The sixth season of the series, titled "The Last Supper's Chosen Ones," will consist of eight episodes, which will be released in three parts over three weeks. The first two episodes will be released on June 15, the next three episodes on June 22, and the final three episodes will be released on June 29 on Amazon Prime.
