Construction of Ice Church at 2,000 Meter Altitude / Photos

According to The Guardian, this ice church was built in a mountainous area 300 kilometers northwest of Bucharest, and access to it is only possible via cable car.
The church structure stands 6 meters high, is 14 meters long and 23 meters wide, and is modeled after a similar ancient church in Transylvania. Over the past week, Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant priests have held ceremonies in this ice church. One of them is Michael Regan, a Protestant priest who compares the ice structure of the church to a baptism ceremony.
He says: “In this ice church, we are in a sense beneath the water surface. We are surrounded by water all around us. Let this place be a place of worship for us, and may people visit it with enthusiasm and joy.”
Although this ice church melts after the winter season, Romanian priests have repeatedly rebuilt the ice church every winter over the past years. Ceremonies such as baptisms and
weddings are held in this church.
