World Health Organization: Daily COVID-19 Cases Reach Record High Globally

The World Health Organization announced the registration of the highest daily record of coronavirus cases since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.

According to the Associated Press, the World Health Organization stated on Sunday, June 21, that more than 183,000 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours, marking the highest number of daily infections since the outbreak of the pandemic.

According to the organization’s announcement, Brazil with 54,771 cases and the United States with 36,617 cases had the highest number of daily infections. India also reported 15,400 cases in a single day.

The number of coronavirus cases in India has reached more than 425,000 people, and so far more than 13,000 people have died from this virus.

Based on data from Johns Hopkins University, the number of coronavirus cases worldwide has reached approximately 9 million people, and so far more than 468 people have died from this disease. The United States, Brazil, Russia, and India continue to have the highest number of COVID-19 cases.

This is while the accuracy of statistics announced by countries such as China, Iran, and Russia is highly disputed, and experts have stated that the actual number of infections and deaths in those countries is very likely several times higher than the official figures.
