Shiraz's Bahman Cinema Burned in Flames

Bahman Cinema, one of the oldest cinemas in Shiraz, burned down in a massive fire on Thursday evening, June 29.

According to ISNA, Shiraz Fire Department Public Relations said that following citizens' contact with the Shiraz Fire Department's 125 system and announcement of a heavy fire, the Fire Department's command headquarters immediately dispatched fire trucks from 10 stations to the scene of the incident.

The CEO of the Shiraz Fire Department also told IRNA: "Rescue forces prevented the fire from spreading to houses adjacent to the cinema, and as a result of these efforts, no citizens were harmed in this incident."

Bahman Cinema is located at the end of the old commercial complex of the same name on Karim Khan Zand Street.

It is said that this cinema does not show any films and has been closed for a long time for repairs.

Meanwhile, reports of empty seats at the cinema last Monday drew criticism.

IRNA also says that the issue of preventing the destruction of this cinema and turning it into a museum was raised in the Shiraz City Council in August 2017.
