Two protesters were severely beaten in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad when officers stormed their homes

Following the release of a video of the mother of one of the victims of the Iran-Iraq War, known as "Martyr Amrollah Taqvi," complaining about the "brutal" arrest of her children, who were protesting against high prices, an informed source confirmed that security forces raided her home and arrested her sons.

On Sunday, May 15, a video was posted on social media showing Amrullah Taghavi's mother crying. She said security forces suddenly raided their home in the city of Souk Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, insulted her and her daughter, and then brutally beat her son, Enayat, and took him away.

In this regard, a relative of the Taghavi family also announced on Monday, May 16, in an interview with the "Imtadat" website that several officers wearing police uniforms entered the Taghavi family's house at around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, wearing Putin's uniforms. When Enayat Taghavi asked them for permission, they beat her with batons, punches, and kicks and took her away.

This informed source said that when the rest of the people present in the house also asked for permits and identification cards, these people said, "We are military forces and it is none of your business."

According to this informed source, the agents returned to the Taghavi family home after an hour with a handwritten note that mentioned the summoning of several people, including "Ali Taghavi," and said about the reason for the arrest and beating of Enayat Taghavi that "she stood in front of us and resisted."

According to this report, the officers had arrested Ali Taghavi, Inayat's brother, and had beaten him for resisting handcuffs. By slamming him against the railings of the air conditioner, they broke his hand and four ribs, as well as ruptured his lung. They then dragged him to the car.

According to this informed source, Ali Taghavi was not allowed to be transferred from prison to a medical center until Sunday night, and after being transferred to the hospital at night, he was quickly operated on.

According to the uncle of the family, his nephew Ali Taghavi, along with his son and a number of protesters, about 15 people, were arrested the night before the incident after participating in a rally to protest against high prices. However, because, according to the chief of the police station, they had not committed "any violation of norms or damage to public property," they were released that night and were scheduled to report to the police station on Sunday.

According to IRNA, following the publication of this video and the news of the arrest of Taqvi's brothers and the insult to his family, the Friday prayer imam of the city of Souk in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad provinces, where Taqvi's family lives, and the commander of the Basij and police station confirmed the news on Sunday.

According to this report, the Friday prayer leader and the two aforementioned commanders went to the family's house on Sunday to "comfort" them, but the news did not mention anything about following up on this issue or dealing with the officers who used extreme violence.

Protests in recent days in a number of Iranian cities have occurred following a significant increase in food prices in Iran, and most of the western regions of Iran, including the cities of Khuzestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh, and Boyer Ahmad, have been the focus of these protests.

Videos released so far from these protests show Iranian security forces resorting to tear gas and batons in some cases. Gunfire can also be heard in many of these videos, but it is not clear whether the shots were fired in the air. However, in recent days, numerous videos have been released showing protesters being injured and even killed by live ammunition and shotgun pellets in various cities.

In many of these videos, protesters can be heard chanting slogans against Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, and the entire current Iranian government.
