The CIA's plan during the Trump era to kidnap and kill Julian Assange

A number of former CIA agents have revealed details of a plot to kill Julian Assange during the Donald Trump administration. The mastermind behind the plan is said to have been Mike Pompeo, then-CIA director and Secretary of State in the Trump administration.

The news site "Yahoo News" has reported on the plot to kidnap and murder Julian Assange, relying on information from about 30 former CIA agents and government officials.

The plan dates back to 2017, when Mike Pompeo was the director of the CIA.

This news source has announced that the plan to kidnap and kill Julian Assange was discussed at the highest levels of the US government during the Donald Trump administration.

Armed confrontation with Russian agents

The news source wrote that Donald Trump's administration obtained information in 2017 that Russia was trying to smuggle Assange out of London.

Several scenarios have been discussed by US security and intelligence officials. One scenario is that of US and British security agents engaging in an armed confrontation with Russian security agents. The stated purpose of this armed confrontation is to prevent Assange from escaping.

But it is said that concerns about the unclear consequences of this issue and the possibility of this event escalating into a widespread international crisis have caused US intelligence agents to refrain from implementing it.

The role of Mike Pompeo

The British newspaper "The Guardian" republished news about the CIA's plan to kidnap and kill Assange, and discussed Mike Pompeo's role in this operation.

Mike Pompeo was the director of the CIA before being appointed Secretary of State in Donald Trump's administration.

Pompeo is said to have told CIA officials to treat Julian Assange as a foreign spy.

The Austrian newspaper "Standard" also reported on the CIA's plan and addressed the statements of Assange's lawyer, Barry Pollack.

Following the revelations by US government and security officials, Pollack has asked the British government and the country's judiciary to pursue the matter from a legal perspective.

"As an American citizen, I feel absolutely ashamed and saddened to hear this news. That our government would kidnap and kill someone without due process, simply because they were telling the truth and spreading accurate information," Pollack said.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange leaked classified CIA documents, including documents related to the Iraq War, in 2010. At that time, a number of international media outlets, including the German weekly Der Spiegel, began publishing these classified documents.
