Labor activists Asal Mohammadi and Hirad Pirbodaghi were arrested.

Reports published on social media indicate that labor rights activists Asal Mohammadi and Hirad Pirbodaghi were arrested hours after filing a complaint against solitary confinement in prisons of the Islamic Republic.

Zia Nabavi, a civil activist and former political prisoner, confirmed the news of the arrest of these two citizens on her Twitter page on Sunday, November 6, writing: "Two weeks ago, they, along with several labor activists, announced in a statement that they had been summoned by telephone to the Ministry of Intelligence."

Despite this, as Zia Nabavi has quoted, these labor activists had said: "They will not surrender to policies of intimidation and threats."

On Saturday, Asal Mohammadi and Hirad Pirbodaghi, along with seven other civil activists and former political prisoners, filed a complaint against the administrators and perpetrators of solitary confinement in support of the "No to Solitary Cell" campaign.

Hours later, however, security forces "violently" entered the homes of these two citizens, searched them, and arrested them.

The Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRANA) news agency also wrote on Sunday that there is still no information about the reasons for the arrest, possible charges, and where these activists are being held, and the lack of information about the status of these two citizens has increased the concern of their families.

Arash Sadeghi, a civil activist and former political prisoner, wrote on his Twitter page that Hirad Pirbodaghi announced during a phone call to his family that he is being detained in Ward 209 of Evin Prison and has been charged with "assembly and collusion."

Ward 209 of Evin Prison is under the control of the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Asal Mohammadi and Hirad Pirbodaghi were arrested in May of this year, coinciding with International Labor Day, on charges of "disturbing public order" for participating in workers' protest rallies and were temporarily released.
