The Sorrow of Displacement, The Pain of Homelessness, The Bitter Taste of Death

Mohammadreza, a 19-year-old Iranian who committed his heart to Jesus Christ in Iran to begin his new and sacred life and remain faithful to his God, passed away on 2019/04/07 under the most difficult and unjust circumstances and hastened to his beloved.

According to FCNN news agency, the young Mohammadreza was harassed, tormented, and threatened in Iran for some time before and after his faith in Jesus Christ, and was forced illegally to leave his homeland at night.

Unfortunately during his passage across the Bosnia border, he was detained and temporarily received permission to stay. However, the aforementioned individual, due to not having a warm place, entered a building under construction to spend the night there. In the middle of the night he woke up to leave the building when, due to the darkness of the area, he fell into an elevator shaft, suffering fractures to his shoulder and leg as well as a brain injury.

It is worth noting that despite Mohammadreza’s lack of recovery, it appears that due to negligence of the hospital medical staff, he was transferred to a regular hospital ward where, despite payment of costs by the church, due to limited medical facilities, unfortunately the young man passed away after a short time.

With a little reflection and contemplation on this incident, which perhaps occurs daily for hundreds and possibly thousands of refugees on this route, it can be said that the Islamic Republic government plays a very significant role in this displacement and premature death.

As we have seen and heard over many years, this government has severely pressured Christians and other religious minorities, often executing them, imprisoning them, exiling them, or depriving them of minimum social rights, and in fact has destroyed them and their families from within. This type of human rights violation is observed only in Iran with such intensity, and they should be accountable at least according to their own written constitution to international bodies. Because while they have accepted freedom of speech, belief, and religion in writing, they actually implement behavior and conduct that is completely contradictory.

Finally, the Persian-speaking Christian community at Church 222, while expressing sympathy with this dear family, offers condolences to them on the suffering inflicted upon this 19-year-old young man, and prays to the living God for them for true peace and consolation.
