Saeed Madani's son: The judiciary has not allowed lawyers access to the case

While about a month has passed since the arrest of Saeed Madani, a sociologist in Iran, none of the lawyers have been given access to his case file, and it appears that the interrogation process is still ongoing.

In an interview with the news site, his son, Yasman Madani, said that his father was accused of conspiracy and collusion, as well as propaganda activities against the regime. According to him, Mostafa Nili, Mr. Madani's lawyer, was not allowed to enter the case, and the request of another lawyer to enter has not yet been resolved.

Saeed Madani's son also told Emadat that his father spent three weeks in solitary confinement after his arrest, and that his family has only had one 30-minute in-person visit with him in the past month.

On May 16, Mehr News Agency announced the arrest of Saeed Madani and stated that the charge against him was "meeting with suspicious foreign elements and transferring their plans and operational lines to some experienced elements inside the country."

Saeed Madani was arrested and convicted many times on political charges between 1994 and 2011.
