Kurdistan Human Rights Sources: A Kurdish citizen was killed under torture by security agents

The human rights organization Hengaw, which reports on human rights violations in the Kurdish regions of Iran, says that Mehrdad Taleshi, a 21-year-old from Divandareh County, was killed under torture by security agents in Tehran.
In the reports published about Mr. Taleshi's arrest, there are different accounts about the location of his arrest.
Some sources have written that security officers went to his home and arrested him, but the human rights organization Hengaw reported that Mr. Taleshi was arrested on February 4 by security officers in the Tehran Bazaar metro station along with another person on charges of "carrying drugs" and taken to Shapour Police Station.
No report has yet been released on the identity and fate of another person who was arrested with Mr. Taleshi.
A person close to Mr. Taleshi's family said that two days after his arrest, on the evening of February 5, his family was contacted by Tehran's Baharlu Hospital, announcing that Mehrdad Taleshi's body was in the hospital.
According to the report, hospital officials told his family that they had received the body from the police station and that they did not know anything about the cause of Mr. Taleshi's death, but that "the signs of beating on his head and neck were clearly visible."
The Avatoday website also reported that intelligence officers said Mr. Taleshi "suffered a stroke due to fear of arrest."
In these reports, Mehrdad Taleshi is introduced as an athlete who has no "criminal record or drug use," and the accusation of "carrying drugs" by Mr. Taleshi is described as "suspicious."
In other reports published on social media, Mr. Taleshi has been mentioned as an artist and activist in the field of music.
Mr. Taleshi's body was buried in Sanandaj on February 19, and his mourning ceremony was held on Monday, February 20, "in a completely secure environment" and in a limited capacity in Divandareh city.
