Mnuchin: Washington will end sanctions if Tehran accepts necessary conditions

The US Treasury Secretary says the United States will end all sanctions on Iran if Tehran implements the necessary conditions.

According to Reuters, Steven Mnuchin made this statement on Saturday, December 13, during an international meeting in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

In a report on the same subject, CNBC quoted him as saying that the purpose of imposing these sanctions is to avoid a potential war.

Mr. Mnuchin added, "The reason we use sanctions is because they are the most important alternative to military conflict in the world."

President Trump's Treasury Secretary noted that sanctions have been effective in achieving this goal.
